Invisible Illness Awareness

Invisible Illness Awareness
April 23, 2015 Stryder's Mom

I posted this on Stryder’s Facebook Page this week:

I’ve been struggling to find a “cause” for Stryder. He has so many syndromes, illnesses, disorders, etc etc etc. (Chiari, Unspecified connective tissue disorder, Landau-Kleffner Syndrome, Epilepsy, Cervical instability, ASD, POTs and on and on and on….)

I would love to fight for a cause, be an advocate, but couldn’t figure out which one to fight – SO I decided on “Invisible illness!” All of them are invisible, although some people say they can tell with him and he does wear bracing on his legs and hands, but really, he looks so normal.

I came up with this “logo” for his site. The logo on Stryder’s page represents invisible illness – the ribbon is transparent, which is in front of the rainbow of colors- the colors represent all the “ribbon colors” of the “invisible” disorders, syndromes, etc.

Invisible Illness Awareness

Since posting this in just a couple of groups, the response has been amazing. There has been a lot of requests for shirts, bumper stickers and more. I will be updating this site with just that — My hope is to get this ribbon out in front of everyone, bringing awareness to invisible illness, (not just invisible disabilities.)
